ASBC Tennis clinic for all beginner tennis players will take place on August 19th from 8:30 am – 10:30 am at Chinqaupin Park (3210 King Street, Alexandria,VA 22302). Chinquapin Park is located right next to T.C. Williams high school. Cost is $50. The tennis clinic will be instructed by a certified tennis coach. Women’s Ministry – Women of the Word (WOW) Small Group, Bible Study:

(Removing the Mask…continuing the Journey in Pursuit of Excellence) — Join a WOW small group and learn how to handle life and embrace change by examining how the Women of Biblical times faced their issues. We will examine “Real Housewives of the Bible” sermon series by Pastor Howard-John Wesley. Registration will begin on September 3, 2017 and close on September 30, 2017. The Evangelism Ministry will conduct an Evangelism Training Session on Saturday, September 9, from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. in Room 314. The open session will focus on the biblical principles for evangelism and witnessing and provide a practical framework for sharing your faith with boldness and confidence. ASBC’s 8th Annual Let’s Ride Bike Ride will be held September 9th at 10:00 am. We will start at Big Wheel Bikes on 2 Prince Street, Alexandria, VA and head along the Mount Vernon Trail and back. Author of “The Engagement Game” Joi-Marie McKenzie is an Entertainment and Lifestyle writer for ABCNews.com. She is also the creator of the award-winning website The Fab Empire. McKenzie is a graduate of Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism. She currently resides in New York City. She is also the daughter of Bishop Vashtie McKenzie, the first female elected Bishop of the A.M.E church. The tie in for having Joi as a guest for CAYA is her book “The Engagement Game” which talks about the games she played to get her boyfriend to propose and ultimately realizing she wasn’t ready for a relationship or marriage. The book was released in March 2017.

DivorceCare, a biblically-based support group for people who are divorced, separated or considering ending a marriage. The 13-week Fall cycle starts Sun. Sept. 10th and Wed., Sept. 6th. WHEN: Sun. at 1:45 pm; Wed. at 6:30 pm. WHERE: Fellowship Hall, then Room 325. We also offer DivorceCare 4 Kids (DC4K) on Sun. only for kids 5-12 years old and a session for kids younger. Please join the ASBC Dance Ministry in their annual workshop on September 9th. This will be a great time for those interested in the ministry, as well as current members, to come together and explore the ministry of dance as a form of worship.
