2011 Scholarship Application Guidelines
Applicants Must Meet the Following Requirements:
- Graduate from a high school in the Washington, DC Metropolitan Area (Washington, D.C. Arlington, Alexandria, Fairfax County, Falls Church City, in Virginia and Prince Georges County, and Montgomery County in Maryland) by June 2011, OR be a member of Alfred Street Baptist Church
- US citizenship
- Admitted to and committed to attend a four-year institution
- Demonstrated commitment to community service
- Maintained a solid academic record with a 2.75 or above grade point average and combined SAT scores (critical reading, math, writing) of 1400 or above /or composite ACT score of 19 or above
- Exhibit financial need
Award Amount
$5000 annually - renewable for 4 years (up to $20,000 total award).
One year awards ranging from $1000 to $10,000.
Selection Process
The Foundation Committee will review applications; select and interview finalists; and present awards in June 2011.
