HIV/AIDS Ministry

Director: Vita Tucker

President: Jason Scarborough

Vice President: LaToyia LaCapra

Secretary: Catherine Miller

Lay Leader: Mark Morris

The goal of the Alfred Street Baptist Church HIV AIDS Ministry is to raise awareness concerning the impact of HIV/AIDS predominately in the African-American community and as it affects our national and global neighbors.

We educate by engaging in dialogue and providing information messages pertaining to prevention, reduction, stigma and the silence associated with the disease and we strive to support those personally affected.

We participate in community, national and global initiatives ranging from support of the AIDS Walk Washington, to the National Week of Prayer for the Healing of AIDS and the annual celebration of World AIDS Day.

We collaborate with multiple faith institutions, we affiliate with faith leaders and other respected leaders of the African-American community in an effort to expand and enhance programs and ministries with a specific focus on the reduction of HIV/AIDS in our community ultimately leading to the eradication of the disease.
