The mission of the See the Gospel Outreach Ministry (SGOM) is to bridge the gap between the hearing and deaf communities in winning souls for Christ. SGOM provides interpreting services during the 11:00 a.m. worship hour and for special services when requested. We also offer American Sign Language (ASL) classes throughout the year. Check the bulletin and website for class dates and times.
SGOM began in 2000 under the leadership of Rev. John O. Peterson. The director is Deacon Karen DeSandies and we welcome interpreters and interested disciples to join the ministry. We pray through this ministry ASBC will increase its deaf membership and participation through equal access to God's Word through the preached Word, Scripture and technology.
Throughout the year we will build solid partnerships with the ministries at Alfred Street Baptist Church and in the Alexandria community.
