SEEK 2023 has been absolutely amazing! I am grateful to God for seeing me through this 40 day journey and for drawing me closer to Him daily. The daily 6AM prayers truly blessed me. I am exceptionally thankful to Him for saving my life and someone else’s during an attempted attack of the enemy. I am grateful to be be alive to give this testimony. I have been humbled through this fast and blessed that Jesus covered and continues to protect me with His Blood.

When I begain Seek I was in a place that seemed filled with stress, frustration and anger. I was at a plateau in my weight and couldn't get it off. My body was telling me I will never get my knee fixed nor get Panniculectomy surgery. From all directions came money issues and family problems. I considered myself to be a kind, supportive, helpful person. But, somehow I felt like it wasn't being reciprocated. So, I begain Seek and gave it all to GOD. I gave up everything. Food, spending money, tv, complaining and just trusted GOD. Psalm 37:5 say, "Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in Him; and he shall bring it to pass." Well, the 40th day has come and Seek is now complete. I have loss enough weight and have received a referral for one of two surgeries this year. I have become more disciplined in my faith and everyday spending habits. I listen more to hear what the Lord is saying to me. I no longer put up with nor tolerate shenanigans. I will continue on my journey for I know the Lord is with me and with not forsake me. Amen

Thank all of you for allowing me to participate in another SEEK journey. My friend Cheryl H. introduced me to this event a few years ago, and I have enjoyed each journey since then. My testimony has to do with hearing the voice of God. I recently had a bout with Shingles. The pain was right up there with childbirth! I have always heard that it was painful, but I did not expect that level of pain. When my mother heard that I had Shingles, she immediately sent me a bottle of calamine lotion over because she said that would help with the itching, which I did not have. My doctor and she said it would keep the itching at bey and help with the pain. Now, I am allergic to antihistamines and have horrible reactions when I take them or put them on my skin and my mother knows this. However, when the itching came, as it was drying-up, I applied the calamine, did not read the label, just put it on, and went to bed. About 30 minutes later, while I was sleep, the pain came back! It woke me from a sound sleep. Naturally, I began praying for God to take away the pain and just let me sleep...didn't happen. After about 45 minutes of this, I heard this voice say, "Carolyn, wash off the calamine and the pain will stop." Well, it was cold and I was in pain. I was not getting out of that bed. So, I continued to pray for relief. Again the voice said, "Wash off the lotion, and the pain will go away." I do not know how long this lasted, but I was in tears when the voice said again, "Either wash off the lotion or remain in pain." That's when I finally got up washed off the lotion, read the label, which did have an antihistamine in it, and got back in the bed. Within what seemed like a few minutes, I was pain free and sound asleep. I do believe that was God speaking to me and only when I listened, did I find relief. God does work in mysterious ways. Good Afternoon ASBC & SEEKERS 2023 FAMILY I truly give God the Glory and the Praise. This 40 day journey has been just that a journey. I begin this journey Seeking God's help and asking for a few things of which a couple were: A better relationship with my daughters, family reconciliation (I have a sister who has not spoken to me in over 4 1/2 yrs., and for God to work on me; to make me better. I am so proud to say that God will answer prayers (some things do come by fasting and praying) This journey was what I thought at first a little hard, having to get up at 4:30am to be on prayer call, changing my eating habits ( I am a diabetic- so I gave up meats, adult beverages, soda, coffee, and sweets) my diet consisted of Nuts, Fruits and Veggies (I learned how to cook a few vegan meals which to my surprise were very good) I plan on incorporating a meatless day weekly. On Sunday, Feb. 5 my sister sent me a text (talk about being shocked, at first I though something was wrong) I thank God that she reached out to me and explained why she had not spoken to me. My sister has been thru a lot of hurt and pain and I am glad that she is reaching out for the help that she needs. I pray that God will continue to heal her wounds and for her to know that she is worthy of all of the Blessing that God has for her. My daughters and I have had some serious conversations, truly conversations and not shouting matches, where we talked and listen to each other. I am thanking God that he is allowing me to take better care of myself. For reminding me that I am worthy of his love and that I need to love on myself like I do others. Taking out the time to seek medical attention and taking my medication as directed. I am taking the "Speak Lord, for thy servant is listening" as my theme for this year. I want to hear God's voice and to not just hear it but to act on it. Just as God hears my prayers and response, I want to hear his voice and response, to follow as he leads me. Thank you Pastor Wesley, and your family (for sharing you with us) My prayers for you is that God will continue to pour out his anointing spirit upon and that you will continue to listen to the voice of God and act upon it. I am also praying for my Seek 2023 Family that we will continue to keep each other lifted up in prayer. During the fast I learn more about process of Prayer the need for congregational worship I also grew in faith I got Financial blessings I was able to work overtime received refrigerator for $500 by $1,000 less than market value praise God. Praise God!!!! I prayed that someone in family accepted Christ Jesus as their personal savior. My 7 year old granddaughter accepted Christ as personal savior. She started reading the Bible and studying. She also watches the Bible stories on tv. I praise God for her because she is deaf with cochlear implants. Her name is Grace and she is under amazing. God has brought her along ways. Stricken with meningitis at age 3 hospitalized for 17 days and loss hearing. A mighty long journey but God is able. I praise God for his goodness. Amen

Happy Day 40, SEEKers! I feel renewed and excited about the rest of the year as we draw to a close of this 40 day journey with the Lord. This was my first fast and also the first time that I was able to experience corporate prayer calls with so many participants. I was in awe at the muddled shouts of praise and thanksgiving during the first prayer call and my heart has been warmed by the same outpouring every morning! One of my brothers served 6 years in prison and was released in September '22. His salvation and success were a part of what I was seeking God for during this time. He has had some hiccups but during week 2 of SEEK, he got a job (after months of applying) and has been working overtime most of the time since then! I know my brother...so I know that this was God! 🙌🏾 I also entered SEEK on a 3-year stretch of just being stuck in virtually every area of my life. This included the fears I have had about purchasing a vehicle for the last few years although I really needed a new(er) one. On day 39 I ordered what will be my first financed vehicle and I am simply trusting God to see me through the entire process. I am letting go of the control that I try to hold so tightly to and allowing God to be God in my life. This is the resolve that SEEK brought me. These are only a couple of the blessings and experiences that I have had with God over the last 40 days. There are some things that I will continue to seek God for over the course of this year and beyond if needed. I am more disciplined and have a greater understanding of what it looks like to spend time with God and not to simply talk to Him, but know how to get in a position to hear Him speaking to me. Many thanks to ASBC and Pastor Wesley for the open invitation and for making me feel welcomed while joining in!

I knew I couldn't send the daily devotions and he couldn't login to early morning prayer but God allowed me to send daily devotions and prayers from the Bible app. He had a hunger to receive God's word. It was like the first time in years he realized God still loves him that he mattered that God has forgiven his sins. Our daily communication was beautiful. On the last say of the fast I woke up to find this text from him "Sand, I have truly enjoyed this journey with you. God will do something for me, I can feel it. So now I'm getting my head right for life outside these walls. I've learned to surround myself with good like minded people, no time for foolishness. Life is getting short and I have some people I want to meet in person, ie my grand kid's and so many great nieces and nephews. So yes I'm more than ready to start this new chapter in my life. I'm listening to this song call God been good to me, that is so true. Even in here He has been good to me. Have a blessed day, I love you". So thank you Pastor Wesley and the ASBC family. SEEk has helped me to see how it is possible to get up earlier and spend that time with God! I felt convicted when I couldn’t utilize that time as devotion period because of a really early appointment. Little did I know my mom would go into hospice and die during Seek. This closeness to God helped me to deal with her death and not feel overwhelming despair. Although I’m not a member I want to thank Alfred Street for opening SEEK to everyone. I have been truly blessed and my relationship with God deepened.

Being married to an abusive, violent, extremely offensive, cruel, and insulting husband, I decided I wouldn't allow anyone to get away with anything with me again. I don't go out too much, but since I moved to SC, I have encountered many racist people. I was determent that I was not taking it from anyone. If I were in a place of business, I would report them or look up the business's main e-mail address and phone and contact them immediately. I didn't care if they were fired or not. Now I pray for their ignorance and my compassion and patience. Let go and let God. God made me stand in front of the mirror and see myself.

But the best part, I prayed for the type of neighbors my dad would have and God put him directly in front of a lady he already knew at the senior center. I am still amazed how God answers prayers. I’ve also prayed for Christian neighbors. I am told the people who use to take my grand mom to church, also live close by. After losing everything in hurricane Ian and being displaced for so long, God showed up for him and me. I’m praying this is a testimony to him because I don’t believe he’s saved. I have been praying for his salvation. Now he’s in the neighborhood near family and friends and I’m so grateful to the Lord. God wanted me to know that it was His hands that made this move because I didn’t realize my dad will be moving in on the last day of our fast. And that was not planned by us. It was God’s plan. Praise be to our God ,He is good. God is moving in other prayer requested areas as well. My dad’s place was a major answered prayer. During this fast, God have shown me many areas in my life that needs transformation. The fast have revealed many things, and I’m so grateful to the Lord God, I give Him all the glory. I cannot wait to see how much more He will continue to do in my life. I appreciate Pastor Wesley’s encouragement during the fast. There were many days that I felt discouraged. Pastor Wesley‘s coaching helped me to realize I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me.

I have during this SEEK session, acknowledge the undisclosed internal feelings through my lifespan.With daily prayer and fasting,I am in much understanding that Jesus through God has given me the strength to leave old routine patterns and to not look back. Praise the Most High GOD for this journey of Seek2023, and for using Pastor Wesley as the man of God to do His will. God has taught me to keep His word in my heart, and know that when things don’t happen it doesn’t mean that GOD isn’t working them out. Praise the Most High GOD for this journey of Seek2023, and for using Pastor Wesley as the man of God to do His will. God has taught me to keep His word in my heart, and know that when things don’t happen it doesn’t mean that GOD isn’t working them out. GOD has given me thru this 39 days a spirit of calm and peace, a friend that I can talk with first in the mornings about any and everything, be it praise reports, concerns, or worries I bring it to the LORD in prayer or general conversation. I am filled with joy to continue on my journey as seek2023 comes to it last day 40. GOD is working in me, thru me, and with me, as I am more confident when sharing my testimony no matter how small. I am a faithful YouTube member and have been blessed by the ASBC family. I know this road ain’t always gonna be easy, but I do know that our GOD is able. Praise God, I’m am so grateful to have been a participant in Seek 2023 journey.. I did Not follow the fasting as outlined.. however did not give up or in My participation was for spiritual reasons .. Not to lose weight etc. or medical. Praise report went to my Doctor for follow up lasting week,as I have genetically high cholesterol.. Blood 🩸 test revealed my numbers lower then ever .. I told my Doctor that was following the seek 2023 partially and exercising.. Note I did think about my cholesterol when Started 23.(.since last visit Dec 2 2022) Thank you... Read more
