WHY WE MARCH
- We believe in the power of prayer and a sovereign God who demands justice, transforms hearts & lives, and restores peace.
- We believe that equal justice and equal protection under the law are rights to which all people are entitled.
- We believe that governments should protect those who are most vulnerable and never fail to seek justice for acts of violence perpetrated against minorities by those who claim superiority or dominance.
- We believe the structural systemic racism and police violence in America must end.
WHO WILL MARCH
- All who believe in God and Justice

- Regional and local ecumenical leaders
- National Faith Leaders, Congressional leaders, Civil Rights Leaders & Celebrities
- Non-partisan Americans who believe in racial equity and justice for all
WHAT WE DEMAND
- People of faith to boldly speak out against social injustice and police violence in our nation
- A national conversation on “Racial Justice and Equity in America”
- Full implementation of the Voting Rights Act of 1964; criminal justice reform and economic justice
- Federal and State governments to invest in the nation’s public health infrastructure and expand access to quality and affordable health care for under-resourced communities
- Public health data reporting on health disparities by race and ethnicity
- Reinstitution by the Department of Justice of consent decrees on police departments and municipal governments across this country that have demonstrated patterns of racism towards the mistreatment of people of color
- Sweeping police reform-federal legislation mandating a zero-tolerance approach in penalizing and/or prosecuting police officers who kill unarmed, non-violent, and non-resisting individuals in an arrest.
- Support NAACP’s call to classify mistreatment of black people as a human rights violation
- Immediate implementation of Eight Can’t Wait Principles to remedy the use of force
- Banning chokeholds and stranglehold’s
- Requiring de-escalation
- Requiring warning before shooting
- Requiring exhaustion of all alternatives before shooting
- A duty to intervene when excessive force is being used
- Banning shooting at moving vehicles
- Requiring the use of force continuum
- Requiring comprehensive reporting

IMPORTANT DO’S AND DON’TS FOR MARCHERS
- DO look out for the Elderly and Young
- DO ignore any taunts, jeers, or provocations from the public. Do not react. Your presence is your statement
- DO direct any media inquiries to spokespersons. Remember, nothing is ever “off the record”.
- DO watch for people who join the march from the public and notify a marshal if you note any suspicious behavior
- DO immediately report any altercations, unruly behavior, or persons deviating from the rules to a marshal.
- DO remain calm if a disruption occurs.
- DO ensure you have a plan to get back to your vehicle at the end of the event.
- DO bring photo Identification and keep it on your person at all times.
- DO bring any necessary medications and carry them in prescription containers ONLY.
- DO notify a marshal if you become ill, feel faint, or are injured.
- DO eat a balanced meal before the march and drink plenty of water
- DO wear comfortable shoes
- DO exit the demonstration area promptly at the end of the event.
- DO NOT engage in any arguing or be seen as threatening against any onlookers, observers, or participants
- DO NOT intimidate, threaten, degrade, or ostracize anyone
- DO NOT carry a pocket knife or weapon of any type
- DO NOT litter on the grounds of the event or along the march route.
