Awana (Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed, based on 2 Timothy 2:15) is all about helping kids learn to know, love and serve God. Children 2 years old through high school age grow in their relationships with God and each other in the fun, three-part program that’s built around age-based clubs. As part of their clubs, kids learn, share and play together in group time, book time and game time, using age-appropriate materials and activities to learn about God and the Bible.

Why do kids attend Awana Clubs at Alfred Street Baptist Church every week? Awana is fun, and the children know that they have a leader who cares for them! And of course, they’re learning and growing while they’re having fun.

The goal of Awana Clubs is to reach boys and girls for Christ and train them to serve Him. Churches around the world are using Awana to reach out to the youth in their communities. The Awana program is non-denominational and Bible-centered, and the club meetings are open to all. Parents are welcome to visit and observe atany time.

ASBC Ages 2-3

These kids are discovering and exploring the great big world that exists outside their home. Puggles introduces these children to the concept of God as the creator of all things and teaches them about His love and goodness.

Preschoolers (3-5 year olds)

The Cubbies program plants seeds of faith in young minds concerning God, Jesus Christ, and the Bible. Your preschoolers will come to understand God’s great love for each one of them. They’ll learn that they can talk to God through prayer and that God talks to them through the Bible.

Kindergarten – 2nd grade

These kids have ventured out of the driveway and are now exploring the neighborhood. They have a lot of questions about everything: when, where, and what of events, places, and people. The Sparks program zooms in on details. Kids in Sparks are introduced to Bible characters and events, and learn why they are important. Sparks materials focus on helping children learn to know God and Jesus.

3rd – 5th grade

The T&T handbooks are being revised over a four year period. This year, we will transition to the new handbook titled Mission: Grace In Action. This appealing curriculum contains 30 Bible studies, memory verses, loads of extra credit (extra verses and extra Bible studies), plus a fun story about T&T Super Agents. Lessons dive into the Grace Life Thread. Kids learn about who God is, what the Bible is, who Jesus is and how to live out their faith.

6th – 8th grade

This year, Trek students will use the brand new handbook Trek 3: His People. The Trek 3 Bible Study focuses on Biblical community, as told through the Book of Acts, and has students asking themselves the question “Who is with me?”.”

9th – 12th grade

“Journey establishes high school students as lifelong disciples through a deep study of God’s Word, mobilizing them to live with godly perspective and evident faith. Starting this fall, Journey introduces the first of four new bible studies titled “Disciples”, which is available in Bible Study or Essentials format. Both are 32 week-long devotionals that explore one topic each week. The Bible Studies are designed to encourage independent study f the bible and includes video lessons, questions, application activities, and other resources to help students dive into Scripture. Essentials are designed to be completed in their entirety during the club night meeting by trimming the content from the Student Bible Study.”
