25 Jul Brother’s Keeper Community Outreach Event
Alfred Street Baptist Church (ASBC) distributed new backpacks, gift cards, shoes, coats and other essential “first day of school” supplies to approximately 2,000 pre-selected low income youth and their families who reside in the underserved communities of Alexandria, VA and surrounding areas on Saturday, July 25 through its 13th Annual Brother’s Keeper Outreach Project, led by ASBC’s Mrs. Amanda Stafford. It was estimated that nearly 500 underserved children and their families who registered in advance received their items onsite. Additional backpacks and other essential school supplies were delivered to area schools and shelters for another 1,500 children and families.
