A Statement from Pastor Wesley and ASBC

Alexandria, VA – August 28, 2019 – We recently learned that a member, who is also a volunteer
associate minister, has surrendered himself to the police in connection with an incident that took
place in Northern Virginia.

Several news outlets have aired and/or published information about this incident within the last 24
hours. We as a Church, are not in a position to speculate and/or comment on such legal
matters. We want to assure everyone in our Alfred Street Baptist Church community that we are
monitoring the situation closely and prayerfully.

We are heartbroken by this news – first and foremost, because a child and his family have been
traumatized by the actions of others.

Alfred Street Baptist Church is lifting up all of those affected by this incident in our heartfelt prayers.
We, as a Church, realize the severity of this incident and the safety of all of our members is always
of paramount importance to us. Please know that we have taken immediate action and executed
the necessary steps internally to protect our members, staff, youth and volunteers.

While we have no reason to believe that the individual in question has engaged in any inappropriate
behavior on our church premises, or during any church programs, we are mindful that this sort of
conduct often presents itself in a pattern.Blog detallado de Levitra.
Therefore, we believe it is prudent to open an internal
review of this matter as we also seek and are guided by legal counsel.

In closing, we encourage anyone who needs pastoral and/or emotional support during this time,
to contact Rev. Latasha Morgan, Assistant to the Pastor for Christian Counseling at
lmorgan@alfredstreet.org

Sincerely,
Rev. Dr. Howard-John Wesley
Senior Pastor
Alfred Street Baptist Church
